Refunds and cancelling
How cancelling, the free trial and refunds work for Lingship's paid plans.
Who you pay
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. You check out on Paddle's page, and your receipt comes from Paddle. We never see your card.
Cancelling
- You can cancel at any time, from Settings → Manage subscription in the app.
- Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you've paid for: you keep your plan until then and aren't charged again.
- After that your account returns to the free plan. Nothing you've read or saved is deleted.
The free trial
- New accounts can try Captain free for 7 days, once per account.
- A card is needed to start it. Cancel before the trial ends and you aren't charged.
- If you don't cancel, the subscription starts when the trial ends, at the price shown when you started it, and renews until you cancel. We remind you in the app when your trial has 3 days left.
- If you keep the plan after the trial, you can still ask for a full refund within 14 days of that first payment (see refunds below).
Refunds
- Within 14 days of a payment for a new subscription you can ask for a refund for any reason, and that payment is refunded in full. After a free trial, the 14 days run from the first payment after the trial.
- Yearly renewals can also be refunded in full within 14 days of the renewal.
- Otherwise payments aren't refunded, in whole or in part, including the unused part of a month or year when you cancel.
- A full refund ends the plan straight away, and the account returns to the free plan. Nothing you've saved is deleted.
- None of this affects your legal rights as a consumer.
How to ask
Email support@lingship.com from the address on your account, and we'll arrange the refund through Paddle. You can also ask Paddle directly at paddle.net.
